Spanish Conversation
Sofía: ¿Podemos hablar un minuto?
Sofía: Can we talk for a minute?
Daniel: Sí. Justo te iba a buscar.
Daniel: Yes. I was actually about to come find you.
Sofía: I think I misunderstood what you said yesterday.
Daniel: I also think I explained it terribly.
Sofía: When you said you were tired of the whole thing, I thought you meant me.
Daniel: No. I meant the problem with the trip, not you.
Sofía: Ya. Pero en ese momento sonó diferente.
Sofía: Right. But at the time, it sounded different.
Daniel: Sí, lo veo. Estaba frustrado y contesté muy seco.
Daniel: Yeah, I can see that. I was frustrated and answered really abruptly.
Sofía: Por eso me fui molesta.
Sofía: That's why I left upset.
Daniel: I know. And afterward I thought, 'That sounded much worse than I meant it to.'
Sofía: Podrías haberme escrito.
Sofía: You could have texted me.
Daniel: Sí. Debí hacerlo.
Daniel: Yes. I should have.
Sofía: I also could have asked instead of assuming.
Daniel: Well, neither of us handled the moment very well.
Sofía: Parece que no.
Sofía: Apparently not.
Daniel: Perdón por cómo te hablé.
Daniel: I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you.
Sofía: Thank you. I'm also sorry I left without saying anything.
Daniel: ¿Estamos bien?
Daniel: Are we okay?
I just wanted to clear it up because I didn't like being left with that feeling.
Daniel: A mí tampoco.
Daniel: Neither did I.
Sofía: Next time, tell me directly if you're frustrated about something else.
Daniel: Trato hecho.
Daniel: Deal.
Sofía: And I'll ask before making up a whole story in my head.
Daniel: Eso también ayudaría.
Daniel: That would help too.
Sofía: Muy gracioso.
Sofía: Very funny.
Daniel: Perdón, esa parte no la pude evitar.
Daniel: Sorry, I couldn't resist that part.
Sofía: Está bien. Ya sé que estamos bien.
Sofía: It's fine. Now I know we're okay.
