Spanish Conversation
Customer: Hola. ¿Me puede explicar cómo funcionan estas máquinas?
Customer: Hi. Can you explain how these machines work?
Attendant: Claro. ¿Es la primera vez que viene?
Attendant: Of course. Is this your first time here?
Customer: Sí.
Customer: Yes.
Attendant: ¿Cuánta ropa trae?
Attendant: How much laundry do you have?
Customer: One bag, about a normal load.
Attendant: Then use one of these machines in front. The large ones are for blankets or heavy loads.
Customer: ¿Y cómo se paga?
Customer: And how do I pay?
Attendant: First you load money onto this card, and then you tap it on the machine.
Customer: ¿No aceptan monedas?
Customer: They don't take coins?
Attendant: Ya no.
Attendant: Not anymore.
Customer: Está bien. ¿Aquí venden detergente?
Customer: Okay. Do you sell detergent here?
Attendant: Sí, allá en la máquina azul.
Attendant: Yes, in that blue machine over there.
Customer: ¿Tengo que poner mucho?
Customer: Do I need to use a lot?
Attendant: No. If you buy one portion, that's enough for one load.
Customer: Perfecto.
Customer: Perfect.
Attendant: Once you put the clothes in, close the door firmly and choose the cycle.
Customer: ¿Cuál me recomienda para ropa normal?
Customer: Which one do you recommend for regular clothes?
Attendant: The cold-water cycle is fine for almost everything.
Customer: ¿Cuánto tarda?
Customer: How long does it take?
Attendant: Treinta y dos minutos.
Attendant: Thirty-two minutes.
Customer: ¿Y luego la secadora?
Customer: And then the dryer?
Attendant: Está al fondo. Se cobra por tiempo.
Attendant: It's in the back. You pay based on time.
Customer: ¿Cuánto suele necesitar?
Customer: How much time do I usually need?
Attendant: For a load like yours, start with thirty minutes and check it.
Customer: Perfecto. ¿Puedo salir por un café mientras termina?
Customer: Perfect. Can I go get coffee while it runs?
Attendant: Yes, but come back on time. If it finishes and people are waiting, they may take your clothes out.
Customer: Mejor me quedo cerca entonces.
Customer: Then I'd better stay nearby.
Attendant: Es lo más práctico.
Attendant: That's the easiest thing to do.
