Spanish Conversation
Valeria: Hola. ¿James?
Valeria: Hi. James?
James: Sí. ¿Valeria?
James: Yes. Valeria?
Valeria: Sí. Mucho gusto.
Valeria: Yes. Nice to meet you.
James: Igualmente. Perdón, pensé que iba a llegar antes.
James: Nice to meet you too. Sorry, I thought I'd get here earlier.
Valeria: No pasa nada. Yo también acabo de llegar.
Valeria: No problem. I just got here too.
James: ¿Nos sentamos aquí o prefieres afuera?
James: Should we sit here, or would you rather sit outside?
Valeria: Afuera está bien. Todavía no hace frío.
Valeria: Outside is fine. It's not cold yet.
James: Perfecto. ¿Ya conocías este lugar?
James: Perfect. Have you been here before?
Valeria: Yes, a couple of times. The coffee is good.
James: Eso me da confianza. Elegí el lugar por las fotos.
James: That's reassuring. I picked the place from the pictures.
Valeria: Well, at least the pictures didn't lie.
James: Eso espero. Oye, ¿llevas mucho viviendo en esta zona?
James: I hope not. Hey, have you lived in this area long?
Valeria: About three years. I used to live on the other side of the city.
James: ¿Te gusta más aquí?
James: Do you like it better here?
Valeria: Yes. I can do almost everything on foot, and I love that.
James: A mí también. Me mudé hace poco y todavía estoy descubriendo el barrio.
James: Me too. I moved recently, and I'm still discovering the neighborhood.
Valeria: Entonces todavía no tienes café favorito.
Valeria: So you don't have a favorite coffee shop yet.
James: No. Estoy aceptando recomendaciones.
James: No. I'm taking recommendations.
Valeria: Peligroso. Tengo opiniones muy fuertes sobre el café.
Valeria: Dangerous. I have very strong opinions about coffee.
James: Perfect, exactly the kind of person I need.
Valeria: ¿Y tú de dónde eres originalmente?
Valeria: And where are you originally from?
James: De Portland.
James: Portland. I came for work and thought I'd stay for a year.
Valeria: ¿Y ahora?
Valeria: And now?
James: Now I'm not in such a hurry to leave.
Valeria: Sounds like the city is winning you over.
James: Puede ser. Aunque hoy el café tiene competencia.
James: Maybe. Although today the coffee has some competition.
Valeria: Muy buena recuperación.
Valeria: Nice recovery.
James: Gracias. La practiqué mientras venía caminando.
James: Thanks. I practiced it on the walk over.
